Hand-wash only in cold water to protect the Kantha threads.

Use a mild liquid detergent; avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.

Do not soak for long — Kantha embroidery can loosen or bleed if left in water.

Do not wring; press water out gently.

Dry in shade; direct sunlight may fade the thread colours.

Iron on medium heat, keeping a thin cloth on top to avoid flattening or pulling the stitches.

Store folded in a cotton/muslin bag; keep away from damp.

Refold occasionally to avoid permanent creases near embroidered areas.

Be mindful of jewellery or rough surfaces — Kantha threads can snag.
